Dundee is a small citrus-belt town in central Polk County, sitting along US 27 between Haines City and Lake Wales with Lake Marion on its edge. Like much of the surrounding Ridge area, Dundee grew up around citrus packing and shipping in the early 20th century, and older in-town lots still reflect that small-town, pre-subdivision layout — modest lots close together near downtown, giving way to larger acreage and old grove land the farther out you go.
That mix means our Dundee jobs range from a straightforward wood or chain link fence on a small in-town lot to larger-footage field and perimeter fencing on outlying grove or pasture parcels, similar to the rural work we do around Frostproof and Fort Meade. Lake Marion's shoreline properties bring the same lakefront moisture and drainage considerations we account for on lake lots throughout Polk County.
Newer growth pushing east from Haines City along the US 27 corridor has started to reach Dundee as well, bringing a handful of HOA-governed subdivisions where fence material and height need to match community standards. Call for a free quote anywhere in Dundee.
Dundee's position on the Lake Wales Ridge gives it the same well-drained, sandy soil that made the surrounding area valuable citrus land for generations, and that terrain generally cooperates well with post-setting compared to lower, wetter ground closer to Lake Marion's immediate shoreline, where we check drainage more carefully before committing to a footing depth. The town's population has stayed under 4,000 for most of its history, and that slow growth shows in how little the core street grid has changed since its early-1900s packing-house era.
What has changed is the pressure from the east — as Haines City's US 27 growth corridor has filled in, Dundee has started seeing the edge of that same development pattern, with a handful of newer subdivisions bringing HOA architectural standards to a town that historically had none. That transition puts us in the position of quoting both a rural grove-perimeter job with no design restrictions and, a few miles away, a new-construction fence that has to match a specific community's approved color and height — sometimes in the same week.
